System for measuring the time course of pressure on the mouth of the gun
The system is designed for measuring the pressure progress in the barrel of a firearm and for simultaneously detecting the firing flash. The system is designed to allow pressure measurement at 2 channels, too.
The system consists of Kistler pressure transducers, Kistler amplifiers, a Keithley 3110 measuring card inserted in a portable industrial computer, and a control program.
The program is prepared in the TestPoint development environment to respect specific customer requirements. In addition to measuring and storing data, the program also allows for
- calculate characteristic time values from the course
- display several waveforms for visual comparison
- calculate maximum pressures
- assist in finding the moment of leaving the barrel
- generate a protocol.
